To Capture a Dream

a dream of white
and wind
and wonder
a dream of rest
and love
and laughter
the sun was smitten
the air was dry
and the curtains
billowed
breezy arches
like silent
crashing waves
I could feel your smile
my gaze tasting
your coffee drinking lips
hear your calm sweet voice
giddy but serene
making the music
for your dancing eyes
and our stories
bounced among the pillows
we could hold them in our hands
balance them on laughter
pass them softly to the other
catch them with our hearts
you teased me
with mock solemnity
I teased you
with mock pride
and my laughter billowed
like the curtains
lifting, rising
flowing
my soul
enjoyed the ride

Awesomeness! You painted a clear picture of the fun of those moment immediately following the intimacy.
My soul enjoyed the ride
Great ending line.
Catherine, this poem as do your others, takes me right to being there with you in the experience. You live so sensually and consciously even amongst the mundane and simple….
I could feel your smile
my gaze tasting
your coffee drinking lips….
Your poem touches many things – I love the imagery and feeling of the billowing crashing waves of the curtains against the breezy arches. That place. That energy.
And then the toying of the two amonst their backdrop.
… making the music for your dancing eyes
very nice arrangement of words!
