Colors Dwelling Under

colors
I dance
across your spectrum
and lose myself, in warmth
dipping my fingers
in paints glowing and wet
in shades so vivid, alive
and I know today
I will choose temperature
over temperate
orange, fruity and sweet
apricot, tangerine, mango
juicy brightness
more saturated
under the skin
fire in the nectar
purple, fragrant, deep
grapes, plump, pregnant
juice, with dreams of wine
plums, lilacs, violets
lavender, urging sleep
perfumed warm wakings
yellow, sunny, bright
tart lemon days
long saffron nights
fearless floral songs
honey, slow moving and sweet
bananas, fast ripening
with the smell of simian needs
then red, oh red
strong, like a club
blood and roses
vine glimmering tomatoes
strawberries
who lose youthful paleness
for soft mellow red sweetness
grounded in tart caresses
I might wrap myself in blueness
enjoy green comfort in forest vastness
think thoughts of simple black and grey
but I will live, and be
with those colors
that need
to dwell under (not over)
my skin

This is like a run down a beach. Naked. Exhilarating. The sights. The smells. Wonderful.
this poem has stimulated all my senses … and I just ate strawberries!
When you choose temperature over temperate, you make a wise choice indeed. That way, you needn't wait for June.
Vibrant, succulent and sensuous. Very Impressionistic Katerina. Kudos!
I love to let loose my imagination upon your poetry – this is a good one.
oh, i knew i'd love this one a lot ;)
