Dry Sand Blows Forgetful

Posted on Jun 6th, 2007 by Catherine : mildly metaphoric Catherine
take me
where dry sand blows forgetful
where the coolness of the earth
meets that place of sun-graced verve
forming membranes, named quite loosely
tastes so forceful, flows and winds
failing time, plugs on gamely
in a grim but grainy warmth

souls sift for soothing
from the shaking
and the vice grip
and the burning
and the pounding craning wantings
howling hauntings
(empty stomachs, bow and prance)

I’ll drag that sleeping, soggy brightness
that sank below my vision
that dripped deeper
in formless questions
than morning dew
on stocking feet

join me, judge me
just me, (just me)
just to jog those memories
bejeweled
judicious thoughts

and in shifting
and in closing
calamity is quite dusty
but calmness
yea, that calmness
calmness
is like sand
