My Little One

for my girls
my little one
sings to the fish when she bathes
my little one
tells me she is dreaming of frogs
my little one
has messy hair in the morning
that curls, tickles my heart like sunshine
and when she’s happy
she gallops and skips
when she’s hungry
she slurps like a humming bird elf
when there is music
I watch her heart, drift through her eyes
when she yawns
she blows kisses to the heavens
and if I am keen and calm
if I can relinquish
my greedy adult wrestlings
I can feel the vibrations
called lifetimes
childhood is a breath and a smile
that might seem fleeting
but the reverberations
never cease

i like the simplicity and directness of this one.
Like a bright warm bath Catherine. So sweet.
short and fun…but also meaningful
I want more darkness also though Cathrine!! maybe I'll write some gritty poetry- there is not enough of it in the world
I have no problem seeing the darkness in the world seatgrabber….
I just never see it in my children:-)
Nope kids are our 3 foot cute little zen masters :)
I can almost see your hand lovingly touch your little girl's tussled hair, the sun shining through your eyes. Thank God for our kids. They remind us to step out of ourselves and find magic in the simplest things. That's what I took from your poem. It celebrates love and cherishing, sweetness and simplicity.
VERY STRONG all the way thru. Especially I like the line, tickles my heart…
yes, a direct line of truth
from the heart
